of the 68 Med Regt. Royal Artillery who was born on this day in 1919 and Pilot Officer 101214 Christopher Ingham Spinks of the Royal Air Force who died
on this day in 1972.
The War Memorials
The World War 2 memorial in St.Oswald's Church, Collingham lists 11 men of the village who served and gave their lives in World War Two. In addition, the Memorial for Linton, in Linton Memorial Hall, provides the names of a further seven men who served and died, and the memorial board in Collingham Memorial Hall combines these two lists. Their names and their stories are listed on the left.
